This version is the complete, standard unix version of GAMESS precompiled on OS X with the IBM xlf compiler for PowerPC processors or the Intel fortran compiler for x86 processors. The 32 bit x86 version will run on any Intel based Mac while the 64 bit version will only run on Core2 Duo based systems. It does not include the GAMESS documentation, which is available seperately on the GAMESS web site.
To download the binary executable just click below and enter the username of source
and the password contained in the email you should have already received.
For PowerPC processors:gamess-OSX.Current.tar.gz
For x86 processors:gamess-OSX.Current.x86.tar.gz
For 64-bit x86 processors (ie core2 duo):gamess-OSX.Current.x86-64.tar.gz
Depending on your browser settings the archive will either be automatically
unpacked or you can follow the following procedure to unpack it.
Move the file to where you want to unpack gamess. Open
a terminal window and cd to the same directory as the archive. Type:
tar -xzf gamess-OSX.Current.tar.gz
You are now ready to run! Just cd into the GAMESS directory and type:
./gms filename
where the filename is the name of a GAMESS input file in the current directory or
in the tests subdirectory.
