Performance-Monitoring Counters Library, for Intel/AMD Processors and Linux
This example introduces
rabbit command-line options --Enable m,n --PC m,n --APIC m,n
Return to Main Menu
Command-Line Options
--Enable m,n
Pentium Pro/II/III and Athlon only. Set m = 0 to disable both performance
counters (Intel) or all four performance counters (Athlon).
--PC m,n
Exert control over the processor's PM0 and PM1 output pins (PC = Pin
Control). They can be configured to signal each time the counter
increments, or to signal on overflow. Probably, no one is watching.
At one time, Intel built a special socket that paid attention, and
rerouted the signals.
--APIC m,n
Pentium Pro/II/III and Athlon only. Exert control over the processor's
local Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller. Requires a patched
version of Linux.
Notes
Avoid these options.
