TECHNICAL PROGRESS

Technical Progress in FY 1994

Three meetings of CCIRDA were organized and held.

A Phase II SBIR proposal was reviewed and subsequently funded.

A Videoconferencing system using the ESnet Video Conferencing Service was installed at Ames Lab.

Technical Progress Expected in FY 1995

More CCIRDA meetings will be organized and CCIRDA will play a larger role in the restructuring of the use of Informatics within DOE. CCIRDA will play an important role in implementing the post-HPCC strategic plan for Informatics.

The SBIR program will require more initial screening.

Technical Progress Expected in FY 1996

CCIRDA will play a continuing role in the development of a strategic plan for the role of Informatics in the post-HPCC era.

Greater collaboration between computing and other networked resources at different Labs will become more common, facilitated by shared information, file and data servers and increased videoconferencing capabilities.
